O, Moda, Moda Cafe & Concept Store /

2012

O, Moda, Moda is an interdisciplinary space founded by Nino Nozadze (Interior Designer), Ketevan Sakandelidze (Art Historian) and Tiko Kvinikadze (Costume designer) in 2012 in Tbilisi, Georgia. It is a cafe combined with the vintage store, object d’art display case, young and up-and-coming designer’s showroom and contemporary art gallery. The title of the space is taken from the 1960s eponymous cartoon. The cartoon is a satire about how fashion is understood and practiced in contemporary Georgia.

What sets O, Moda, Moda apart from other concept stores is a very distinct sense of style and design that is conveyed in the interior design of the early 20th century apartment building that it is located in. The wooden doors were stripped down, white walls, high ceilings and original cast iron fireplace are combined with dominating designer lamp and mismatched chairs. The outside garden is left to run wild with its pomegranate, fig and palm trees. The sitting areas are tailored around the magical wildness rather than the other way around, garden furniture is scattered around the wild greens. Notion “interesting” describes the whole experience of an open kitchen, combination of a vintage store and contemporary showroom and the way you spent time there - unexpectedly well.
